Paddle Peterborough 2023

Paddle Peterborough 2023

Three years ago, Patty Wilson was on Lorne Beach,
when he happened to meet Jamie Loveridge.

Cancer was an unwelcome intrusion in both of their
lives.

They both confided in each other.

Jamie’s sister Kath had passed away two weeks prior
with Thymic cancer.

Patty was suffering from Melanoma cancer.

The conversation was pivotal in helping Jamie begin
to come to terms with his sister’s death.

Two weeks later Jamie drove from his hometown of
Peterborough to join Patty, his friends and family for
The Paddle
Across the Bay.

Not long after, Patty lost his battle with cancer.

But the bond forged and their fight against the
disease lives on.

Paddle Peterborough will be held for the third year
to pay tribute to Patty, Kath, and all the cancer warriors.

This event brings together friends, family, and a
community to raise money and awareness to help defeat a disease that has
touched the lives of so many.

We’d love you to join either as a participant,
sponsor or patron of the event.

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.

Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my fundraiser, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
