Chopping day confirmed again

Hello,

My baseball club, Guild All-Stars, kindly let me have my hair cut there for the main event for my fundraiser.

The details are below.

When: Saturday 19th of June

Time: 10:45 - 12:30

Where: Geelong Baseball Centre, Pioneer Road, Grovedale

(next to Leisurelink and Waurn Ponds library, near Waurn Ponds shopping centre)

During the event, you can purchase 2 minute noodles in cup (thanks mum and dad for yummy noodle donation), and the money will be donated to my fundraiser. I will also draw the winner of the double pass to Puffs musical, so make sure to come!!!

I will be playing a baseball game at another ground before the event starts. Please come early to watch us playing and cheer all Geelong baseball junior players if you have spare time in the morning.

Chopping day has been confirmed

The chop day is going to be Friday 25/06/2021, the last day of term 2. I am so lucky that my friend's mum who is a hair dresser will give me a hair cut.

I am excited but little nervous about cutting my long hair short. It is really happening, and about 10 weeks away.

Saya's hair cut for cancer council

Hi, my name is Saya and this is my story

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’. My mum was one of these people in 2018. I was only 8 years old and my brother was 6 years old then. I felt very sad, anxious, worried and very upset because I knew cancer is bad disease, and mum was losing her hair by the cancer treatments. She was lucky to have access to a wig, and my idea of keeping my hair for future wig started at this point. I am chopping my beautiful hair (that everyone tells me) and donating it to turn into a wig. One day, someone may need the wig like my mum did.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done. I hope that one day, this survival rate becomes 10 in 10.

Luckily there are super heroes in the world called Cancer Council, and they need our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my chop, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.

Please support my chop fundraiser. I may be a small human, but I would like to be a big superhero for cancer free future.
