Goodbye hair, hello hope

I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.

Hi, my name is Mohamad, I am an Iranian PhD student at Monash University in Melbourne.

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words 'you have cancer'. Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.

After two and half years, I planned to shave my 40 cm hair long in order to raise awareness about cancer and to support research into cancer prevention and treatment.

The hair will be donated to a charity to make wigs for children in need.
