Haircut Is Now Complete

I did it! 🙏🏻 The hair is all gone now.

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got there, and I couldn't have done it without so many amazing people supporting and encouraging me.

A big thank you to my coach, Adam, and his team at @impactbasketballacademy, and to coach Benny Lewis @waverleyfalcons Basketball Association for giving up their time and court so I could run my basketball event, which was so much fun. Thank you to Rif for taking some amazing photos of my event as well. I'm so grateful to everyone who contributed to my fundraising.

Luca's Hoop Academy Session Fundraiser For Cancer Council

Join Luca and his coach, Adam Knott from Impact Basketball Academy, this School Holidays for a fun basketball academy training session while fundraising for a good cause!

"This event is close to our hearts. We wanted to bring our community together around something Luca loves — basketball — and channel that passion into something meaningful. We hope you ball-loving hoopers will come along, bring your family, and help us make a difference."
 

What's happening on the day:

SESSION LED BY HEAD COACH ADAM KNOTT - IMPACT BASKETBALL ACADEMY

Former SEABL / NBL1 player  ·  9+ years skills training  ·  VJBL & Big V Youth League Coach · Experienced teacher

• Live basketball academy session led by head coach Adam Knott and the Impact Basketball Academy team

• A fun day of engaging skill development and strategy through creative drills and competitive game play

• The event is tailored for U12 and U14 Junior basketball players who are current Rep or aspiring Rep players

• Every dollar raised goes straight to Cancer Council Victoria - support a cause that touches so many of our lives

My Hair Is Getting Longer

Hi everyone,

I’ve just started Grade 4 this year and wanted to give you a quick update!

I’m still growing my hair, and 2025 is my 4th year of raising funds for my charity. My hair is getting really long now! After talking with my mum and dad, I’ve decided that this will be my final year of growing it out.

At the end of this year, I’ll be cutting it all off to donate for wigs, and I’m really excited and sad (and a bit nervous too!) all at the same time. Until then, I will continue to raise money for my charity.

Here’s a photo of me so you can see how long my hair has grown (oh and if your wondering what I'm doing in the photo, I'm helping my mum to fill up some vases for her florist)!

My New Fundraiser Goal

I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.

Hello, 

My name is Luca and I am 8 years old.

When I was in Year 1, my Grandmother passed away from cancer.

When my Grandmother was sick, the medicine she was taking was making her lose her hair.

I wanted to remember my grandmother by doing something positive for the cancer community. 

I want to donate my hair to this charity so they can use it to make wigs for patients who have cancer.

I have been growing my hair since Year 1 and plan to continue for the next one to two years. 

I will also raise money for my cancer council charity during this time. My goal is to raise $500.
