Chopping my hair and running a Marathon for the Cancer Council

Hi all, 

As some of you may know I have been growing my hair out for over 2 years now to raise funds for the Cancer Council, it has been a long time coming but finally it is almost time for the big chop. For me, my hair is such a big part of my identity and I can’t even begin to imagine how it must feel to lose part of yourself to a battle such a cancer. In an effort to make a small difference in someone’s life ….  I will be running the Mansfield Marathon on the 12th of May (Mothers Day) and cutting and donating approximately 30cm+ of my hair in the days following to raise money and awareness for Cancer. The Mansfield Marathon just so happens to be partnering with Cancer Council this year so I thought why not combine the chop and big old run!

I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.

Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my event, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
