I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
It is only 3 words, 'you have cancer'. It is only 3 words, yet these 3 words make an enormous difference in over 150,000 Australian lives each and every year. It is only 3 words, but these 3 words impact entire families and communities when the short message is spread about.
I've wanted to shave my head for quite a while in support of cancer patients. Many relatives of mine have had scares with or have gone through the extensive treatments that go side by side with the 3 frightening words.
Although I love my hair, I believe my curls could go to a much better use being donated to a salon and used to fundraise for people who have not had the choice to cut off their hair.
I will be shaving my head towards the end of 2021, each curl that drops paves the way for a better future. A future where when someone has to hear the 3 words, 'you have cancer', it isn't such a daunting prospect.
