✂️ Bentley’s Big Chop for Cancer Council: A Little Boy With a Very Big Heart
For seven years, Bentley has been known for one thing almost as much as his cheeky grin — his iconic plait.
Everyone knows a Bentley with that long, beautiful hair trailing down his back. It’s been part of who he is, part of his personality, and part of his family’s story. His dad, especially, has always been incredibly protective and sentimental about Bentley’s hair. It’s been a symbol of love, pride, and identity.
But now, Bentley has decided it’s time for something bigger.
💛 A Brave Choice With a Powerful Purpose
Bentley has never had a haircut. Not once. He’s been growing his hair with a quiet purpose — to help create a wig for cancer patients who have lost their hair during treatment. At just seven years old, he understands something many adults struggle to grasp: that even the smallest person can make a massive difference.
And now, he’s ready.
Bentley has chosen to take the chop and donate his hair. But he doesn’t want to stop there. While his hair will help someone feel confident again, Bentley wants to raise funds for Cancer Council to help even more people — now and in the future.

This isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s personal.
Bentley has grown up hearing stories of strength, loss, and survival. His family has felt the impact of cancer deeply:

These are names filled with love, memories, and heartbreak. They are also reminders of why supporting cancer research and patient care matters so much.
And alongside the losses, there are family members who have survived cancer — living proof of why continued support is vital.
Bentley’s big chop is for them. It’s for the families who are fighting right now. It’s for the people who will face cancer in the future. It’s for hope.

Bentley’s plait has been admired, celebrated, and talked about for years. Soon, it will become something even more meaningful — part of a wig that helps someone feel like themselves again.
His courage is inspiring. His generosity is humbling. And his heart is enormous.

I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my event, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
