Hello all! 

Thanks to some wonderful last minute donations I have been able to raise more than $2500 which is bloody phenomenal! Thank you SO SO much to everyone who has donated, it means so much to me and is supporting such an amazing cause! 

I have set up a facebook live event to live stream the big shave, which I am predicting will happen around 5.30pm today, Tuesday 19th April 2022. I have never used a live stream on facebook so I am hoping the setting are correct and that it will stream to my friends on facebook but also to anyone who would like to watch (even if they do not have a facebook account). Fingers crossed it goes smoothly!

Melbourne is putting on the best showcase of weather for a newly shaved head... luckily I have a wonderful selection of beanies to keep my noggin warm! Better go choose one now to be the first to christen my newly nude nut post shave! :-D

One Day More...

Well here we are... the final day before the big shave. Thank you again to everyone who has donated, I really appreciate your support in helping raise funds for a much needed cause.

With one day to go I felt a bit sad putting my hair up in a bun for the last time this morning for quite a while. This has been a process that has started most of my mornings for several years now and a big part of my routine. It will be nice to have a few more minutes to sleep in or give Beans an extra cuddle once I no longer have to do this.

There is still time to donate if you would still like to. I have set the closing date for the fund raising to be Saturday 30th April. I will be setting up a live stream of the shave for tomorrow afternoon as well. This will be occurring at around 5.30pm so watch this space if you are interested in tuning in! :-)

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your wonderful support. I have raised 3 times the amount that I originally set out to do so that is bloody brilliant. If anyone else is thinking of donating I'd love to hit the $2000 mark but happy with all of the support and the amount that has been raised so far! Thank you all!

A date has been locked in for the big shave! It will be happening on the 19th April, just before I head back to school following my long service leave and the school holidays. I am more than ready to have that extra 15-20 minutes in the morning where I do not have to wrangle the locks into some form of bun and am looking forward to the savings I will make on shampoo and conditioner purchases! :-D 

Watch this space as I will be trying to work out some sort of live stream for the big shave, perhaps on face book or through a linked zoom meeting.

Thanks everyone who has donated so far, wow! I have already passed my original goal of $500 which is amazing. As I said in my original post my main goal was to donate my hair in order to make wigs for those in need and any monetary donation was just a bonus so I really appreciate the support from my community, it really means a lot! ??

A long forgotten chop

Hey peeps!

I have been threatening to shave my head for a long time... and that time is finally here!

As many of you know my hair has grown long... REALLY long. It is definitely overdue for a chop. I also have a bucket list item of one day shaving my head... so why not combine the two and raise some money for a wonderful cause. I will be donating my hair so that it can be made into wigs for those in need, but also thought I would do some fund raising to build some cash to continue to fight and kick cancer in the butt! Anything that you can spare to donate would be much appreciated!!

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
