We made it!!!
6 days, 72+kms with 2,000+ metres in elevation gain across varying and challenging terrain of rocks, tree roots, mud, streams and flooded lakes. But we did it! Teamwork prevailed and the motivation of raising funds for an important cause helped us get through. Thank you for your support and if you would still like to donate, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your support.I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
Starting on Friday 23rd April 2021 I will be tackling the Overland Track in Tasmania (this was supposed to happen in October 2020 but unfortunately Covid-19 had other plans...) with like-minded friends also raising money and awareness for their chosen charities.
I want to challenge myself, both physically and mentally, and what better place to do that than on a 6-day hike in the Tasmanian wilderness. This will be my first multi-day hike. It will be an opportunity to see what I am made of while also doing it for a purpose - to raise awareness and fundraise for the Cancer Council. Not many people can say that either themselves or someone they love hasn't been affected by a battle with cancer.
Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my walk, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
