Post surgery update
Thank you so much everyone for your generosity, kindness and support. We have been overwhelmed by the funds raised to support research, treatment and care for cancer patients in Victoria. My hair has been sent off to be made into a new hairdo for someone in need too.
I'm back home on the recovery train. The two rounds of surgery this week went well, and should hopefully mean it's all behind me for good!
I have posted a picture of my stapled up scalp on the page. Still time to donate, it will close on Friday!
I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.

I have been diagnosed with a large skin cancer on my scalp. The first surgery to remove it is on 18 September. This, sadly, means that I will have to shave off my long, lush locks.Â
Brandi and I decided this is a good opportunity to raise funds (and hair) for the Cancer Council, so along with my fancy new hairdo, we will support vital treatments and support services for thousands of Victorians.
I am lucky that my cancer is non-life threatening and will be able to be surgically treated. There are many people who are not as fortunate. Cancer's effects are felt far and wide and every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’. By donating, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
We are staying positive that the skin cancer will be fully removed and recovery will not be too onerous. We are also feeling very lucky to have such great family and friends to support us.Â
