I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
Our family history has heard the word “cancer” too many times. Finding out that I could no longer donate my hair for wigs because it had been dyed I decided that for my 40th birthday I would celebrate by shaving my head. Then we went into hard lockdown. By the time we were out enough to find another date, my 17 year old son decided to join in.
Donate a flat amount or donate an amount “per centimetre of hair cut off”. My own hair reaches my belt now.
My wonderful Country Women’s Association Branch, Newstead, have been lovely enough to let us add in this fundraising event to our schedule. We will be at APPLEFEST in Harcourt, up near the ANA HALL and there may just be more than the two of us. Over $500 raised by 3pm on March 6th and I will be completely bald! Less than that and I’m keeping 2 inches of hair.
All the best Dani
