I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Chameli and I am 8 years old. In the photo with me are my two sisters – Sanuki, my big sister who is 12, and Mithu, my middle sister who is 10. I want to tell you a little bit about us.
I love playing netball – I play two days a week for Beaconsfield Junior Netball Club and Garfield Netball Club. That is my favourite thing to do (other than going to school!). My two sisters play netball too, and they are really good. They play for representative netball and domestic netball, and one day I want to be as good as them.
A few years ago our parents showed us a video about children with cancer. We saw how they lose their hair during treatment, and how it makes their families and friends feel so sad. Mum and Dad explained to us that we can help those kids by donating our hair and raising money for the Cancer Council. Three years ago, the three of us cut our hair and raised $1700. We were so happy that we could help.
Now our hair has grown long again and we want to do it all over! This time, our goal is to raise $2000 for the Cancer Council. On the 10th of October we will cut our hair to donate it and make wigs for people who need them.
We really hope you can help us reach our goal. Every little bit makes a big difference, and together we can help children and families who are going through cancer.
