Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my event, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
I’m shaving my hair for my friend Zoe, my grandma Maureen and my Cousin Isla. Sadly I lost Zoe and Maureen to cancer . Zoe passed away in 2017 when we were in kindergarten. This year Zoe should’ve been with us for grade six and the fact that we lost her when we were so young was so hard because she will never experience all the times me and my friends have had. She will never be forgotten and we’ll make sure of it.
We lost Maureen (my grandma) earlier in 2017. It was so hard on all of our family. I wish we could’ve spent more time together.
Isla was diagnosed with cancer in 2023 and she KICKED CANCERS BUTT! She fought so well and we are all so deeply grateful to have her with us.
I’d like to support those who are still out there battling cancer and with your support we can create a future without cancer! Thank you and remember that by donating you could save a life.
