I’m walking to help all Victorians affected by cancer
As some of you know I lost 2 people nearest and dearest to me this year, very close together. I considered Con and Ulie my grandparents, as two of the most loveable people I’ve ever met. Their last 12 months saw them both fight cancer as hard as they could, both supporting each other, surrounded by their family. They unfortunately lost their battle but they both left behind the inspiration to fight and the importance of family and friends.
Every year over 34,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
I'm helping Cancer Council Victoria by joining Walking Stars – a night-time walking half marathon in Melbourne’s CBD with a difference!
By supporting me, you’ll be funding ground-breaking cancer research, prevention programs and support services that offer a helping hand to Victorians affected by all types of cancer, like Con and Ulie. xx
