It's all off now. Despite my valiant efforts to even out my girls' hair cutting, it was beyond my lockdown hair dressing capabilities. Luckily regional Victoria came out of lockdown and I was able to visit a hair dresser to get it evened out. I'll try to add photos but I've had a few issues. We'll get there! Thanks again for your kind donations. I've hit over $1500 now which is amazing.Phase 1
We followed the instructions to donate the hair to Sustainable salons. It was tied and plaited and ready to cut. Bea and Flo were pretty excited to cut the plaits off for me. I will try to put some photos up. It was pretty entertaining.I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my cause, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
This fight has become personal for me since a very important person in my village has been diagnosed with cancer. While the prognosis is really positive, losing hair is a big hurdle. Losing your identity and some dignity while undergoing treatment for a severe illness sucks. So I’m going to shave my head in solidarity and donate my hair to Sustainable Salons who will hopefully be able to make it into wigs for people with alopecia or hair loss from cancer treatment. Since I’m in lockdown anyway, I might as well do something good with my time. If you have a few spare bucks to chuck my way, that would be awesome. We’re in a pretty rocky time for many financially, so if that’s you, don’t feel any pressure. Sharing my post on your socials is free and will be helpful too.
