Sharn’s passing has left a deep sadness in so many hearts. When I first learned of her death, I felt a strong need to honour her, which is why I created a collection on Facebook for our nursing friends. The response was overwhelming and a true reflection of the incredible impact she had on everyone who knew her. Sharn was gentle, shy and quiet until you had the privilege of really knowing her. Beneath that quiet nature was a woman filled with love, empathy and kindness. She was a beautiful soul and an exceptional neonatal nurse who cared deeply for every baby and family she looked after. She will be forever missed by her Special Care Nursery family and the wider nursing community. Sharn’s compassion, dedication and quiet strength will always be remembered. In honour of Sharn’s wishes, she asked that donations be shared between the RSPCA, reflecting her love of animals, and the Cancer Society.
