Steve Scalone Urban Architecture Award Fundraiser

By Robyn Campbell

Congratulations Afshin Jafari

The Australian Photographic Prize received 107 entries into the inaugural Steve Scalone Urban Architecture award. The overall quality of the images was incredible. Steve would be proud. Congratulations to Afshin Jafari for winning first place as voted by the attendees of the Australian Photographic Prize.

The Australian Photographic Prize is fundraising in honour of Steve Scalone to help stop cancer.

In April 2024, we lost Steve Scalone, a true gentleman and beloved member of the photographic community. Steve, who had passion and talent for photography, is greatly missed by all who knew him. Together with Steve, in his honour,  the Australian Photographic Prize has created the Steve Scalone Urban Architecture Award. Proceeds from entering this award will go to the Victorian Cancer Council, continuing Steve's legacy of supporting cancer research and care.

Each year, more than 35,000 Victorians are diagnosed with cancer. Thanks to the generosity of the community, 7 in 10 of them will survive for at least five years. However, there is still much work to be done. Every dollar raised helps fund life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services, ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone.
