Doing this for mum!

2020 has been a horrible year for everyone and unfortunately I was not the exception. 

I lost my mum in May to lung cancer at the young age of 56. 
This shook me to the core and I feel i am still in shock almost 6 months later. 

I watched my mum, my only family deteriorate in front of my eyes, this hurt me beyond words, how I wished there was more I could do to help her. To see her improve and come back home to me and our pets. 
Unfortunately she declined and was soon put on a drip that she would not wake from. I refused to leave her side. 

Then the dreaded day came, only a short 6 weeks from her first diagnosis, where she took her last breaths. My heart shattered as I fell to the floor in tears. Holding onto her and never wanting to let go. This was not happening. Someone wake me from this nightmare!! 

I wish I did more, I wish I could have saved her from this pain. 

I am cutting my hair to help those going through the same heart wrenching pain, the pain of seeing a loved one sick or dying is something I would never wish on anyone. 

I hope that the funds I raise for the cancer council will help those in need and the hair I will donate make someone feel beautiful as everyone deserves to see the beauty in the world even if they are in a dark place fighting this horrible disease. 

I hope my mum is looking down on me and that she is proud. 
I love you to the moon and back mum.

Sorry to hear that you lost your Mum. I can’t even imagine how that must feel for you. I am so in awe and wonder how courageous you are to do what you are doing.
