I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
This is for those families that have been affected by cancer in some way shape or form. This is for those of you who have lost loved ones, close ones or their mates. This one is for you mum.
For those of you that don't know my story, I lost my mother at age 19 to stage 4 cancer in both lungs. She was told she had 3 months to live, and fought for an incredible 12 months. That year changed my life. And the years that followed tested my life. Without the support of those around me, I can almost surely say I wouldn't be here today.
I sat with wondering if I should do another fundraiser. After all, I've done it three times. And each time I have been blown away by the community surrounding me and the support you've given over the years, not only financially, but in communicating with me or by just being by my side when I needed a mate. I felt a lot of shame in asking for more donations, but ultimately I know that the money that is raised really does go to a good cause. And if we can make an impact on just one persons life, we have succeeded in making this world a better, happier place.
So, the rules are simple. Any donation (it really can just be 5 cents!) and you can jump over to my Facebook and vote in a poll on what hairstyle I will get before fully removing all of my hair. The hairstyle will stay with me for an entire week. The date of the shave will be March 12th and I will be doing it whilst on a Men's Retreat program in the hinterland of Queensland. I will do my best to live-stream the shave, but it will be reliant on if there is wifi on the property or not. If there isn't, it will be uploaded when I am in wifi.
