The C word

I came into the world with an early understanding of the C word (yep that one too ?). 
Cancer had smashed a hole in my family years before my conception. My beautiful Mum and amazing Dad had tried to start a family for years- affected my the big C, so discussions around prevention and understanding were prevalent growing up. 
Since then, Cancer seamed to gate crash a party at regular intervals, knocking at the door with its ugly threats and pain. 
While early shaves had motivation of defiance (shocking I know ?) - I had also made a decision to support those affected in anyway I can. 
Shaving each decade and raising funds for various organisations has been one way I have been able to contribute.
Reflecting on this journey, and recognising the impacts this C of an illness has on me & my ppl- this years shave has so many emotions behind it. 
Fuck cancer. 

I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.

Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my walk, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
