I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’. In the 5 years I’ve been growing my hair I’ve had 2 family members diagnosed with leukaemia; 4 people with breast cancer, including my mum; 2 with melanoma and 3 diagnosed with terminal cancer. The sad thing is, I know that I’m not alone in having loved ones diagnosed.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of those diagnosed with cancer will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my event, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
On the 30th of September I’ll be cutting between 20-30cm of my hair to donate to sustainable salons for wig making.
