I write, as you read. Another somebody’s loved one is diagnosed with cancer minutes ago. The story goes, I chose to raise awareness probably the backwards way that is, I shaved my head first rather than wait for a future date. I guess today I was eager because it has been 6 years and one week since I lost my best friend, my soulmate, my laughing buddy, my apples eye and missing beats to the rhythm of my own heartbeat - I lost my mother (our lioness devoted to five children and the extended family and beyond). My gosh she was amazing! Incredible actually! She was a woman with guts, a soul who burned through tribulations and sky rocketed at celebrations. I devoted today not only for my mother, my countless unties, uncles, friends and acquaintances who have been touched by cancer journeys irrespective of the outcome. Because the outcome for those diagnosed is neither to battle it, fight it, challenge it, but rather master the pathway if ones journey to continue their immense worth here on earth or be called upon the other-side, albeit a heaven, or universal dimension of bliss, joy and happiness where new responsibilities await them. These touched by cancer have a story to tell. Those who miss, and love their spiritual beings have a story to tell. Cancer doesn’t care who you are, your age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation if your rich or poor or love Elvis Presley or dislike tomato soup. Cancer is a F***kn massive awakening to realise we need more funds to support individuals with their immediate diagnoses, their journeys, treatments, health and mental supports, medical trials, families and friends who a also reckoned with a rough road of grief and acceptance, medical professionals who provide treatment and support, for all those young infants and children without a mother or father, a sister or brother, a relative or a mate… or even stranger that deserves these donations. I do not wish to beg, but I kindly ask if you donate a few bucks, cents or dollars, from the heart, be brave and proud like every single soul experiencing a Cancer Journey!
