I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
This is a double effort. Raising a little money to support Cancer Council AND donating my hair to create wigs for cancer patients.
I was inspired at the end of 2019 to grow my hair to donate. It seemed like cancer was all around me and donating my hair was easy. Became even easier with two years of lockdown and limited access to my hair dresser! I did have to have some decent chops after each lockdown so it took a little longer than I thought. My hair is now at my waist and with it being so hot and heavy - it is time to go!
Don't worry, I'm not shaving or getting a pixie cut but someone will certainly benefit from a decent length of rare red hair!
Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.
Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.
Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my event, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
