I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
This year, instead of celebrating with gifts, Lola has chosen to celebrate a little differently.
As she marks her 67th birthday and her official retirement, she wants to give back by raising funds for the Cancer Council. Throughout her life, Lola has met many people affected by cancer. Thankfully, many of them have survived and outlived their diagnosis thanks to advances in treatment and research. Seeing their strength and resilience has inspired her to help ensure future generations have the same hope.
Every year, more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words, “you have cancer.”
Thanks in part to the generosity of Victorians, 7 in 10 people will survive at least five years after a cancer diagnosis. While this is an incredible achievement, there’s still so much work to be done.
