I’m fundraising for the Cancer Council to help stop cancer.
I have always wanted to shave my head but my hair is my security blanket and I was always too scared about how I would look without it. I am losing my hair rapidly due to a variety of health issues, the main one being that I started dialysis 2 months ago due to kidney failure. Rather than sit here and let myself be consumed by the thought of losing all my hair, I am choosing to take control of an unfortunate situation and trying to turn it into something positive that I can look back at and be happy and proud of in the future.
I, like so many others have been affected by the heartbreak of cancer and it is a cause that I hold close to my heart. My family and I lost my cousin Luke to cancer in 2010, he was only 23 years old and such a special part of our family. He is missed every single day.
I would love to take this opportunity to raise some money in honour of my big cousin, who I wish was still with us and your generosity no matter how big or small would mean so much to me!
