I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.
First and foremost, I want to dedicate this to my mother, Wendy.
My beautiful mum, you have faced this challenge with such grace. We are determined to witness the day when you are free from this burden.
This foundation definitely runs very close to my heart! Over the years I have known and heard of many beautiful people that have been struck with this horrible diagnosis.
In 2024 the statistics reveal that 1 in every 2 individuals will face a form of cancer during their lifetime. For me and many others, that is really frightening! I'm passionate about helping with the change of that statistic for our future, Our children's future!
My beautiful mother Wendy aged 58 recieved her life changing diagnosis of stage 4 Bowel cancer in December 2019. Mum is nothing short of a FIGHTER, she has overcome chemotherapy as invasive and all round draining as that can be, almost every second Tuesday morning on and off for the past 4 years. She has attended appointments after appointments, she has spent weeks at a time in hospital to undertake surgery for removal of tumours, that at one stage was 23cm large! In June of 2023 they found that the cancer had spread to her right ovary.
Mum has been battling metastatic Cancer for coming up to 4 years, and the journey has absolutely not been easy for her, yet she has truly inspired me, my family and I'm sure many others that know her!
She is a Mother of 3 and a Grandmother of 4, there is so much life for her to live and so much for her to be around for. Despite how much this diagnosis has tried to take from her, she will always persevere.
That's just something about mum, no matter the situation that is thrown her way, she will face it head on and always show up the next day ready to tackle it, all over again.
My goal is to walk 90kms in distance over the period of the next 3 months! I am definitely not fit by any means, I have only recently had my daughter.
But I am dedicated & passionate about this, ultimately, huffing and puffing due to being unfit is absolutely nothing compared to the battle my mum and so many others have to fight daily.
I want to join my mum & every other warrior to help with the fight. And with your help we can find a cure!
Any donation big or small, or even just a share of this page, would be so greatly appreciated!
Thank you for the time it took you to read our story :)
