A Small Act of Kindness – My Hair Donation for Cancer Council

Hi everyone,

My name is Abhirami Abhilash, and I’m a Year 8 student who believes that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the world.

I come from a family where my parents have always taught me the importance of compassion, love, and gratitude. They believe that we should always try to help others whenever we can, and that even simple actions can bring hope to someone going through a difficult time. Growing up with these values has inspired me to do something meaningful for others.

One way I wanted to contribute was by donating my hair to support people going through cancer treatment. Many cancer patients lose their hair during treatment, which can be very emotional and challenging. By donating my hair, I hope it can be used to make a wig and help someone feel more confident and comfortable during their journey.

Through this fundraiser, I am also supporting the Cancer Council, which provides vital support services, research, and care for people affected by cancer and their families.

This journey is not just about cutting my hair 🤗🫶 it’s about standing with people who are facing cancer and showing that we care.

If you are able to support my fundraiser, even a small contribution can make a difference. Together we can help fund research, provide support to families, and bring hope to those who need it most.

Thank you so much for supporting my journey and helping turn a simple act into something meaningful.

With gratitude,

Abhirami Abhilash

I’m fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria to help stop cancer.

Every year more than 35,000 Victorians hear the words ‘you have cancer’.

Thanks in part to generous Victorians, 7 in 10 of them will survive five years after a cancer diagnosis, but there’s still so much work to be done.

Cancer Council needs our support more than ever this year. Every dollar raised gives hope for a cancer free future. By supporting my event, you’re funding life-saving cancer treatments, prevention programs, and support services that ensure no one has to face cancer alone.
