On Cancer Research Giving Day, Thursday, 19 February we’ll be celebrating the impact research has had on cancer survival and getting behind today’s talented researchers working on the next breakthrough.
This is always an inspiring day and this year our generous matching donors are doubling every donation until we hit $800,000! And to make sure everyone gets the chance to double their impact, donations will be matched from right now up until midnight on Cancer Research Giving Day.
With one Victorian still dying from cancer every hour, time is not on our side. Every hour a researcher can spend in the lab brings us closer to the next lifesaving breakthrough.

At just 11 years old, Seamus was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewing sarcoma and still lives with the side effects at 26. A gentler treatment option would have meant more time at school for him and less time in hospital.
“For 12 months I was too unwell to attend school, instead I was visited by in-hospital teachers doing division and multiplication on my hospital bed while chemotherapy was being pumped into me,” Seamus shared.
“Cancer is so much more than just the cancer cell itself, or the diagnosis, or treatment. The impacts of it stay with you for life.”
